He was born on 26 July 1964.

In 1985 he graduated from the Borisoglebsk Air Force Academy named after Valery Chkalov and in 2000 from the Gagarin Air Force Command and Staff College. During his service with the Air Force, he flew the L-29, MiG-21, MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft. His total flying time in these aircraft is 1,560 hours. Possesses the "Military pilot-sniper" qualification. He has been flying the aerobatics since 1989.
Married. Has a son and a daughter. His hobby is motoring and alternative medicine.
